How Many Democrats Does It Take To Put Out A Fire?
It turns out that things aren’t just about common sense. One of our political parties is actually composed of truly-stupid people.
Bari Weiss, who founded The Free Press after leaving the New York Times, appeared on Fox News today to discuss the failed response of Democrats to the multiple fires ravaging Los Angeles and Southern California. Virtually everyone knows that had Democrats not been in power, the state and city would have been well prepared to stop the fires — likely preventing them fully. Despite agreeing that supposed Climate Change couldn’t really account for the failings of leadership by California Democrats, Weiss still said that this wasn’t an issue of which party you vote for — it’s not about Republicans or Democrats, it’s about common sense.
Surely, if what you want is common sense, then this must be an issue of parties. It has never been more clear that the Democrat party isn’t a mere second option of equal merit to the Republican party. You can go through the entire rank and file of the party and you won’t find a single person with common sense. The same is true of their voters, who display massive cognitive dissonance, inability to assess social issues as related issues, and who lean on party-made shibboleths to guide their voting and policy decisions. However, even they are looking at this and realizing the truth. The LA fires have put the final nail in the coffin on an issue that many of us have thought was transparent: The Democrat party is the party of stupid people.
If Joe Biden’s bumbling, dazed performance in his debate against Donald Trump was the moment that opened Democrat voters’ eyes to his already-obvious incompetence, the LA fires and the flaccid response of Democrat leadership has done the same thing for the party as a whole. Watching their televised responses was like watching a contest for who could say the next dumbest thing. Karen Bass, Ghana’s apparent ambassador to Los Angeles, literally advised her city’s residents that they could get all the important survival information they needed by going to URL. I mean, that’s about as brain-dead as a delta smelt.
However, it goes further than just saying dumb things. Democrats do dumb things — almost exclusively:
When Jerry Brown was last governor of California he idiotically announced that the decade-long manufactured drought would endure indefinitely. He actually said that it would never rain again in California. Then, his party proceeded to decommission dams — dams that would have been overflowing today with the last few years of heavier-than-usual rain.
More recently, both Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass both dramatically reduced or denied funding to fire departments. Bass even issued an order reducing fire funding just prior to her Ghana-bound joyride, leaving her city to burn.
The LA Fire department, run by democrats and DEI-first boobs, allowed itself to become understaffed. Moreover, it allowed itself to be staffed by DEI hires, one of whom responded on live TV when asked if she could lift a man to carry him out of a fire, that if he had gotten himself in that situation it was really his problem. That’s sort of like a emergency medic telling you that if you found yourself shot, it’s really not their beef. All the while, neglecting to test fire hydrants or maintain reservoirs.
I could exhaust myself providing examples, but I don’t need to. You can look at virtually any news station right now if you want a never-ending feed. But what I do want to answer is the question: Why is the Democrat party so choc-full of stupid people? They weren’t always this way, so how did that happen?
Start with the Kamala Harris Accent
Surely you’ve noticed that all the Democrats talk the same way whenever they make public appearances. The Kamala Harris Accent, or Democrat Accent is characterized by the following three features:
- An unnecessary mix of SAT words, as if they are explaining something really intricate.
- Sentences that don’t really say anything, or something extremely simple at best. Sometimes, if you pay attention, you will notice the sentences are actually circular in nature.
- A tone of lecturing, as if admonishing slow elementary school students. This is characterized by slow, almost rhythmic cadences as if they could be clapping their hands together with every other word.
There are no Democrats today who deviate from this style of speaking. Some of the most annoying examples, of course, are Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, and Hillary Clinton. Who doesn’t feel like they are at a lecture whenever one of them opens their mouth? Assuming this is something you’ve also noticed, haven’t you wondered why they all speak like that?
The answer lies in the Democrat’s move to recapture black voters during the Great Society expansion of the 1960’s, by trapping them in welfare programs and city planning schemes like housing and public transportation as well as taking over the public education system. Combined, these efforts effectively converted the black vote back to Democrat control and they have expanded to other demographics in the same way over the decades.
The hallmark of this educational monopoly is that educational programs no longer treat their students like they are aspiring adults who need to learn and think on their feet. Instead, they are subjected to rhythmic, monotonous, indoctrinating platitudes on a daily basis. These are delivered as if to toddlers because there has never been an effort among Democrats to teach their subjects how to think more critically than a toddler.
Winning arguments is no longer done by presenting a compelling case while considering and countering your opponent’s position. It’s done 👏 by saying 👏 things 👏 as if 👏 you’re scolding 👏 a child 👏 while clapping 👏 your hands 👏 to really 👏 show 👏 them 👏 who’s 👏 boss 👏.
The effect of this has been the rise of platitudes and phrases while on-the-fly critical thinking (AKA Common Sense) has declined. Students may not graduate from elementary or high school able to read, write, speak or do math but every one of them has learned that Democrats are good and that they need to support them by voting and #resistance.
Obviously, the Democrats who came up with this whole scheme were very smart. Social engineering isn’t easy, and it takes craft to trick people into it. Better yet, once people were trapped in this system, they ultimately become a recruiting pool to further populate the party. It’s truly brilliant, but therein lies the problem: For 5 decades the Democrats have been developing and recruiting dumber and dumber members to fill their ranks. It’s the classic cult scenario where the founders know the mystic idol is a ruse, but the second and third generation members are true believers. Finally, it all blew up in their faces in 2024.
Why Did it take us until the LA Fires for the obvious to finally seem so obvious?
The reason that it took us so long is that the Democrats not only controlled the education system but also the media. For roughly 80 years our news and political media have become ever more scripted and polished, and a big part of that is simply that the news anchors and politicians are empty heads who need words to be written for them. We don’t have Churchills anymore who write their own stuff. However, as long as everyone was working in a closed bubble that was no problem at all. Joe Biden could go up on a podium and claim that the sky was red and CNN’s hosts would cover for him, explaining how it was obviously some obscure, brilliant reference.
We really needed a disaster to finally crack that closed environment open and force everybody to go off-script. Trump trouncing Biden on the debate stage did that in a small way like I said before, but that wasn’t that perfectly timed and perfectly placed disaster we needed. Neither were the Hurricanes in Florida or North Carolina. Why not those? Because they didn’t hit where the Democrat machines live — they live in California.
What happens to the Democrats when a bunch of midwest or Appalachian Republicans lose their homes in floods? What about when FEMA isn’t there to help, or actually even inhibits relief? What about when average income Republicans struggle to afford food and gas? Nothing happens to the Democrats as a consequence because nothing is happening to rich Democrat supporters. Those people can easily look at the news and say, “Well those people just don’t work hard enough,” or “Maybe if they didn’t vote down funding for X program there’d be money for relief,” or “That’s what they get for driving gas cars. Maybe now they’ll take climate change seriously.” It’s never their problem.
It’s not the same situation when you blow up Malibu and Topanga Canyon. That’s not the karma the rich, deep blue donors who live there are supposed to receive. When they looked to their DEI-hire fire department to save them and found out that there was no water in the fire hydrants, the reality that they don’t live in a movie finally sank in. And when they look to those SAT-word-wielding progressive, representative leader who are supposed to always weave solutions out of thin air (and a 13% income tax), they expected to hear that reassuring, super-polished, studio-ready response. Or at least for someone to say it’s Trump’s fault.
Everybody was off script. The newscaster’s house was on fire. The mayor’s ghost writer’s house was on fire. Nobody was there to put words in these stupid people’s mouths. The Democrat fire chief had nothing to say. The Democrat mayor had nothing to say. The Democrat governor had nothing to say. This went all the way to the failed Democrat Vice President and President. Unfortunately there isn’t a politically correct throwaway way to obfuscate “yeah, your house and all your stuff is on fire” and none of these second or third generation inheritors of the Great Society have any capacity to think and speak on their feet, let alone actually prepare for or solve problems. At long last the calamity had struck the home of the gods, and it struck them all dumb as hell.
The stupid party is over. Where’s the after party?
I’ll just leave you with this. It’s likely that the Palisades and Eaton fires will change the political climate of California dramatically and for a generation or more. That means the political climate of the entire country. Although, it would be naive to assume this is the death of the Democrat party, anyone who was a Democrat voter can no longer avoid confronting the truth of their party. It’s the party that creates and enables all of the nation’s problems and it turns their own supporters are not, in fact, immune to the fallout. The safety net is gone, the world’s problems don’t merely exist on the other side of a screen, and voting for or funding this party perpetuates the problems. Only the truly stupid will continue to support it.
